It's time to celebrate. This week on The Lovecast we decided to have ourselves a celebration. CIUT FM is celebrating 35 years on the FM frequency. We just celebrated Earth Day 2022. Coming up this week it's our annual CIUT FM Spring Fund Drive 2022. This year The Lovecast celebrates 20 years on the public airwaves, and on top of all that, it's Dave O Rama's birthday today.
So in celebration of all that goodness Dave O Rama decided to produce a show he's been wanting to drop for a long time. A Lovecast focused on the brief Latin dance movement that burst forth in the late 1960s known as the Boogaloo. A moment in time when the New York Latin music scene fused Cuban music with American Soul and other influences to create the Latin Boogaloo craze. This week it's a Big Lovecast Boogaloo Birthday Bash. A Latin Soul dance party to celebrate the spring and summon the heat.

The Jamaican E T and one of the most prolific and globally influential musical minds in modern history. Lee "Scratch" Perry has been the most magical creative inspiration in my life, as I have been presenting Perry's music on the radio airwaves for 40 years.
In celebration of his life and his 86th birthday, The Lovecast celebrates the smallest musical giant in recording history with a two part series that presents some of Dave O Rama's favourite Lee "Scratch" Perry tracks gleaned from Perry's own solo work excavated from a mind blowing discography that includes classic productions for everyone from Bob Marley & The Wailers to The Clash, Bill Laswell and The Orb.
