Sometimes we use themes here on The Lovecast to keep the musical selection interesting. This week the theme I decided go with is incredibly random, and yet randomness can also be inspiring. This past week I decided to make an attempt to start editing one of my many music archives. It became obvious very quickly that it will take me many lifetimes to sort out all the music that passes through my personal database as it took me a couple of days just to get through the A's in one of my many music archives. So, with that brush with reality I decided that all the artists and bands that I play on the show today will have names that begin with A. And this week on The Lovecast "A" is for Abstract.

Steve Fruitman and Peter Stamp interview broadcaster Dave O Rama about his background in radio and his long association with Toronto campus based community radio station CIUT FM, which broadcasts to southern Ontario and upper state New York at 15000 watts from downtown Toronto. Dave O Rama currently produces a broad spectrum globally minded music exploration program for CIUT FM called The Lovecast, which airs on Saturdays from 4pm to 6pm EST.
The Lovecast is produced from his island cabin home on the west coast of Canada. Dave first became involved with CIUT FM on the very day the station launched on the FM frequency, January 15 1987 at 12pm . Beyond his role as a show host, Dave O Rama has engaged with CIUT FM on many levels over the past 36 years including guest hosting on numerous programs, overall music program direction, project management, training, fundraising, administration, merchandise and logo design, event production, and so on.
