It's time to celebrate. This week on The Lovecast we decided to have ourselves a celebration. CIUT FM is celebrating 35 years on the FM frequency. We just celebrated Earth Day 2022. Coming up this week it's our annual CIUT FM Spring Fund Drive 2022. This year The Lovecast celebrates 20 years on the public airwaves, and on top of all that, it's Dave O Rama's birthday today.
So in celebration of all that goodness Dave O Rama decided to produce a show he's been wanting to drop for a long time. A Lovecast focused on the brief Latin dance movement that burst forth in the late 1960s known as the Boogaloo. A moment in time when the New York Latin music scene fused Cuban music with American Soul and other influences to create the Latin Boogaloo craze. This week it's a Big Lovecast Boogaloo Birthday Bash. A Latin Soul dance party to celebrate the spring and summon the heat.

This episode of The Lovecast celebrates a momentous occasion. It marks the exact day 35 years ago when CIUT FM first launched of the FM frequency, broadcasting with a signal of 15000 watts from downtown Toronto. This date also marks the very same anniversary of Dave O Rama walking through the doors of CIUT FM for the very first time at 11am on January 15 1987.  
What a thrill it is to be hosting The Lovecast on the actual day of our 35th anniversary. This week I celebrate both of those significant anniversaries with a show saturated in rockin' blues music and garage rock. Joining me for our rock n' roll celebration is Toronto electric blues duo, CATL. Jamie and Sarah chime in on the phone and chat with me about the history of the band and life during the pandemic.
