To conclude our 4-part series celebrating Black History Month, The Lovecast pays tribute to legendary Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, activist, and the father of Afrobeat music, the late great Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The subject of numerous documentary films, in-depth podcasts, and a Broadway musical based on his life. Now, 29 years after his passing, Fela has just been honoured with the 2026 Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music. On this edition of The Lovecast, Dave O Rama digs deep into his audio archives and comes up with two historical recordings representing some of his past work with CIUT FM, Toronto. To celebrate the upcoming 39th Anniversary of CIUT FM, I have edited and formatted a 1992 interview with legendary British bassist and producer Jah Wobble. Wobble is a prolific global fusion musician and a former founding member of the British post-punk band Public Image Ltd. This interview was recorded in 1992 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto during his Rising Above Bedlam tour. This is the first time this Jah Wobble interview has ever been aired. And in hour two of the show, I'm featuring a live in-studio performance by legendary Canadian eccentric, Chris Houston. This performance first aired during the summer of 1990, on Dave O Rama's old CIUT FM program, Alligator Wine, with technical production by D B Hawkes. Chris Houston is also a former member of the legendary Canadian punk band, The Forgotten Rebels.
